Rotary En-Vision Photography Contest

Rotary is a worldwide, not-for-profit organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are about 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 150 countries and geographical areas.
Rotary International District 3190 is currently one of the top service districts across the Rotary world, which comprises over 130 Rotary Clubs with 5200+ members.

Environment Sustainability Rotarians Action Group (ESRAG) assists Rotary clubs, districts, and multi-districts in planning, implementing, and evaluating service projects, building awareness and inspiring action. These projects promote environmental sustainability, awareness of climate change, and actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to mitigate climate disruption. ESRAG promotes educational resources, initiates a dialogue about environmental sustainability, and uses best practices in models and assessments for both projects and daily choices. This work advances the Object of Rotary through positive impacts in all six areas of focus.

Rotary International District 3190 , Environment Sustainability Rotarians Action Group (ESRAG) and International Fellowship of Rotarian Photographers - India (IFRP-India) have come together to celebrate the rich biodiversity through photography contest to create awareness and celebrate the rich Flora and Fauna under the new area of focus - supporting the environment. The contest aims at showcasing and supporting the environment-related projects carried out by Rotary International District 3190.
The contest also aims at creating awareness amongst the public towards conserving, nurturing, and preserving the environment through projects and activities.

  • Contest Entry Dates - 1st September 2020 - 30th September 2020
  • Last Entry - 2400 hours 30th September 2020
  • Results will be announced on 10th October 2020.

The proceeds and sponsorships received from this contest will be deployed by ESRAG to support three environmentally sustainable projects, namely:

  1. Rejuvenation of lake:
    1. Koira lake to support the agricultural community in Bengaluru rural district.
    2. Project Cost: Rs. 70,00,000
    3. To increase the water holding capacity by 40% (increase by 115.30 Million liters of water)
  2. Rain water harvesting at government schools:
    1. Focus on 100 schools based in Doddaballapur
    2. Project Cost: Rs. 50,00,000
    3. This project will help environment by increasing the ground water levels in the surrounding area.
  3. Menstrual Hygiene Management at Rajankunte:
    1. To make Rajankunte an almost zero menstrual waste area by reaching out to around 2,500 women.
    2. Cost of the project – 9 lakh rupees
    3. To reduce the usage 12 Lakhs single use disposable sanitary napkins being sent to environment.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Limited to not more than 3 images per section. Only color images will be accepted.
  2. Image size should be within 2 MB with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 300 dpi. Images should only be provided in JPG or JPEG..
  3. There are no restrictions as to subject matter except as outlined in the rules and definitions of specific sections.
  4. Entries must originate as photographs. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own (aliases are not permitted).
  5. The entrant permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website.
  6. All winners will be announced on the website, social media and intimated by email.
  7. The jury reserves the right to withhold some awards if the quality of submitted photos is not satisfactory.
  8. The organizer will take all possible care while handling the awards, however we assume no liability for damages and loses during shipping.
  9. Winners may be asked to submit the original raw files or high resolution files as and when required by the organizers.
  10. Your Photograph will be judged by a panel of professionals and well-renowned Photographers. The decision by the panel will be the final.
  11. Entries will not be judged without entry fee and the entry will be disqualified for judging. The Author must accept the conditions of the competition.
