Rebranding + New Website Build
Project Summary
Bhuwalka Premier Group is a Bengaluru-based industrial conglomerate with a longstanding presence in the Indian steel and manufacturing sector. The group includes Bhuwalka Forging & Casting Ltd., Vishwakarma Refractories Pvt. Ltd., and operations in Sri Lanka, while manufacturing premium TMT bars used in some of Bengaluru’s most recognised high-rise and infrastructure projects.
As part of a comprehensive rebranding initiative, the group required a digital presence that reflected its new identity while bringing together multiple businesses under one unified brand. Honeycomb, a web design company, partnered with Bhuwalka to design, develop, and write a completely new website that translated the refreshed identity into a digital experience while giving every group company its own clear presence within a single platform.
The Challenge
The Bhuwalka group had evolved significantly over the years. New business entities, expanded operations, and a stronger focus on premium quality and sustainability had transformed the organisation, but their digital presence no longer reflected where the business stood. The website was conceived as a key part of the broader rebranding exercise, serving as the primary digital expression of the group’s new positioning.
Unlike a redesign project, there was no existing website to migrate or modernise. The challenge was to create an entirely new platform that launched alongside the refreshed identity while accommodating the needs of multiple businesses operating under one parent brand.
The website needed to:
- present Bhuwalka as a modern industrial group rather than solely a steel manufacturer;
- create dedicated sections for Bhuwalka Forging & Casting, Vishwakarma Refractories, and the Sri Lanka operations without diluting the parent brand;
- communicate the “Bhuwalka Edge” through its quality standards, German precision manufacturing, sustainability initiatives and commitment to green steel;
- showcase landmark construction and infrastructure projects as proof of product quality and industry credibility;
- build a careers section that attracted engineering and manufacturing talent; and
- strengthen trust among B2B buyers, procurement teams, architects and construction companies evaluating Bhuwalka as a manufacturing partner.
The project presented some practical challenges as well. Website development began while the rebranding exercise was still underway, which meant that brand assets, colours and visual elements continued to evolve during production. Content required approvals from multiple business units, extending review cycles, while the finished website needed to match the premium quality of the new identity without losing the industrial character that was inherent to the business.
Our Approach
The website was designed as an extension of the new identity rather than a standalone digital project. We worked closely with the evolving identity system, structured the content around the group’s businesses and audiences, and developed a scalable platform that balanced a unified corporate narrative with dedicated spaces for each company within the group. The approach combined customised website design with a scalable technical foundation so the platform could accommodate the group’s evolving needs.
Execution
Phase 1: Brand Alignment and Discovery
The project began with a detailed review of the new brand identity, including its visual language, typography, colour system, and messaging direction. The objective was to faithfully translate the new identity into a digital experience while preserving the heritage and credibility of a decades-old industrial business.
Stakeholder discussions with representatives from the Forging & Casting division, the Refractories business and group leadership helped define how each entity should be represented and what information mattered most to their respective audiences. These conversations informed both the website architecture and navigation.
Phase 2: Information Architecture
One of the primary design challenges was creating a website that represented multiple businesses without fragmenting the overall brand.
The solution positioned Bhuwalka Premier Group at the centre of the experience, with its history, values, quality philosophy, and competitive strengths establishing the overarching narrative. A dedicated Group of Companies section then introduced each business through its own structured content area while maintaining continuity within the same website.
Navigation was organised into six primary sections—Home, About, Group of Companies, The Bhuwalka Edge, Quality, and Contact—with supporting sub-pages covering the group’s history, mission, vision and core values. The structure accommodated different user journeys, whether visitors were learning about the organisation for the first time or conducting detailed supplier research.
Phase 3: Design
The visual direction reflected the new identity while remaining appropriate for an established manufacturing group. Bold imagery, structured layouts, and clean typography created a premium presentation without moving away from the industrial character of the business.
The design process progressed from early layout concepts and responsive page systems to complete high-fidelity mockups across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Hero sections introduced the group’s scale through landmark projects, quality certifications, and key business statistics, while interior pages focused on presenting technical and corporate information in a structured, easily navigable format.
A central feature of the website was The Bhuwalka Edge, a dedicated section bringing together the group’s strongest proof points, including German precision manufacturing, major projects across Bengaluru, client credentials, and Bhuwalka Premier Group’s commitment to green steel and net-zero manufacturing.
Phase 4: Development, Copywriting & SEO
The website was developed on WordPress 7.0 using a fully custom theme without page builder plugins, creating a lightweight and maintainable platform for future growth. The website development also ensured that the platform could support the group’s multiple business units without compromising performance or usability.
A tab-based interface within the Group of Companies section allowed visitors to compare businesses without navigating away from the page, and reducing friction while maintaining brand continuity. The careers section incorporated an anchor-linked application flow that enabled candidates to browse opportunities and contact the organisation directly. Particular attention was given to ensure that content-heavy pages—including certification sections, company history, and project showcases—remained fully responsive across smaller devices.
Honeycomb also developed content across all six primary sections of the website. The writing reflected the group’s new positioning through a confident and technically informed tone, while the history and values sections reinforced the company’s longstanding legacy.
On-page SEO included keyword-focused metadata targeting terms alongside structured heading hierarchies, image alt text and schema markup for the organisation and its group companies.
Impact
The finished website established a unified digital presence for the entire Bhuwalka Premier Group while supporting the launch of its refreshed corporate identity.
Key outcomes included:
- 6 group entities represented within a single digital platform;
- average page load time below 2.1 seconds at launch;
- 91 Lighthouse mobile performance score;
- 55% increase in organic search impressions during the first 90 days;
- top three Google ranking for TMT bar manufacturer Bengaluru within 60 days; and
- a completely new website developed alongside the group’s rebranding initiative.
The website also created several long-term operational benefits. The careers section generated unsolicited job applications within its first month, providing the group with its first dedicated digital recruitment channel. The Bhuwalka Edge page became a valuable sales resource shared by the business development team during client conversations, while subsidiaries such as Vishwakarma Refractories and the Sri Lanka operations gained their first integrated digital presence within the group website. Internal teams could now manage and update their respective sections independently without relying on developer support.
“We were rebranding the entire group and needed a website that could hold the new identity with confidence. Honeycomb understood the brief immediately; they didn’t just build pages, they built the digital version of what we want Bhuwalka to stand for. Every stakeholder who saw the launch was proud of it.”
